To move from ownership to stewardship

We cannot own a gift. 
A gift is freely given, is received in the heart
and then we can only take care of it. 
The gift of Earth is a gift to us all.
We cannot claim any aspect of it as our own 
and separate it from others.

The statement "this is mine" therefore harms 
and is an insult to the love given, is a seed of war, 
shows disrespect and arrogance.

The statement "I am a caretaker of the Earth" 
is respectful, humble and 
is an inherent statement of peace.
