THE BUSINESS OF CARE.

The business of care is a very deep and wonderful experience. It has taken me many years to understand how I could spend long hours of the day wrapped up in
the craft I love and also use it as a business.
I could not see a way of connecting this healing work with the straight ways of buying and selling. Somehow it always jarred, always blocked and never really fitted.
Time is a divine experience. Work is a talent. You can’t buy either of them.

Money in the Fairy kingdom is a sensitive business and needs to be treated so. In fact it is through my work with the Fairy Folk that I learned so much about
how to apply Care First.
Since my early teens I have always worked. As I left school I took an apprenticeship in window display for a fashion shop, followed by boutique sales assistant, assistant manageress, then department leader in a fashion store.

In more recent years I have done a lot of cleaning work in nursing homes,
private homes, holiday center, offices, etc.
All very nice jobs, all completely related to me, all scantily paid and none
really enhancing or enriching me to my fullest capacity or nature.

My main day to day role is spent in many fruitful hours running a healing practice together with my husband. Here we help people with their personal needs which includes the development and expansion of my work with the Dolls. This latter part has mostly been without fixed charges allowing people to give to us freely as they felt inspired. We firmly believed there was another way to serve family and friends that had more beauty and healing quality to it than;
“You now owe me X pounds for my work and my time”.

The dream of becoming a full time Doll maker and living fully with the medicine that this role brings came from my heart. I knew I must make the necessary changes
in order to fulfill this dream.

One of the first steps was to disconnect work and money.
Don’t get me wrong. I am not against money. It is just that the balance between wages, bills, mortgages, pleasure, leisure and our real talents have all gone out of proportion.

I had to decide to make CARE my main day to day theme. Every second looking to see if what I was doing was care… or not.
I constantly put all my real choices in life first. Happiness, peace, my work as an artist, and the fulfillment of my soul needs.

Connecting my work to a care first consciousness meant I could begin to see a way forward not just for me but for many of us.

I am choosing to work the work of my dreams and share it with the world.
